Thistle oil
Thistle oil is a drying oil used in oil painting. Thistle oil is particularly suitable for light colours, as it is only slightly yellowish and yellows much less than linseed oil. Thistle oil is, however, less flexible than linseed oil, and it is therefore often recommended to use a mixture of thistle oil and linseed oil as a paint. There are two types of thistle oil, one with a high content of linoleic acid and one with a low content. For painting, safflower oil with a high content of linoleic acid is used, as it improves the drying properties of the oil. Our thistle oil is gently refined and has a high content of linoleic acid.

Addition
The product can be added with siccatives & pigments.
Safety
Rags used during work can be self-igniting!!! They must therefore either be packed airtight, spread out so that the heat can escape during drying, or destroyed. Linseed oil dries by absorbing oxygen. In that process, heat is developed. If the heat cannot escape, such as from a crumpled cloth, it can spontaneously ignite.
