Carnauba wax
Also called palm wax, is a natural wax extracted from the leaves of the Carnauba wax palm, Copernicia prunifer, which grows in northeastern Brazil. The wax is beaten off the dried palm leaves and subsequently refined.
It is used in countless everyday products, from dental floss to car wax.
Carnauba wax is the hardest of the natural waxes and very water resistant. The wax can be melted in linseed oil, e.g. together with beeswax for turning wood or for treating furniture or floors. Carnauba is good to use in combination with other types of wax, as it tends to be too hard and inflexible when used alone.
The wax has a fairly high melting point around 85 degrees, so caution is advised in the melting process.
ATTENTION! HEATING OILS AND WAX CAN BE ASSOCIATED WITH A FIRE HAZARD AND THE WORK IS PERFORMED AT YOUR OWN RISK!
