Attention; There can be a big difference between how a color is represented on a screen and how it is experienced in reality. It is important to keep in mind when choosing color.

Floor oil from decor colors is a diffusion-open oil consisting of linseed oil, stand oil (boiled linseed oil), pigments and desiccant. Floor oil is used on floors or surfaces where wear necessitates a more resistant surface. The floor oil composition of cold-pressed linseed oil and stand oil (boiled linseed oil) provides great elasticity, respectively, as the oil penetrates and cooperates with the wood, as well as increased abrasion resistance, as the stand oil hardens harder on the surface and thereby becomes more robust. The floor oil is available in many colors. See the selection in the store and here on the website.

The floor oil contains neither VOC, microplastic or the preservatives MIT or BIT

Pretreatment

The wood must stand raw and be cleaned of dirt, grease, and other possible dirt, so that the wood can absorb the oil. Basic cleaning is done with either wood cleaner or ammonia water and sanded if necessary. After cleaning, the wood must dry approx. 1 day before further treatment. In case of any lye treatment to avoid yellowing, the wood must dry about 1 day before oiling.

Application

The floor oil is best applied with a wide brush with natural hair in a single layer. The oil is worked well into the wood in a slightly fuller layer, preferably at both crosses & across the years and then along the years. The oil is left for half an hour to give the wood time and the opportunity to soak up the oil, after which excess oil is wiped off with a lint-free cloth in the longitudinal direction of the wood. Bigger floor areas is best worked with a polish-machine (Woodboy). At the end of the work, the oil must have been worked completely into the wood and simply have a silky-thin oil film. Stir in the oil while working for a uniform layer of color.

NOTE! Be very careful with the cloths, which can ignite on their own !!! The cloths are drowned in water, destroyed or packed in an airtight container.

Maintenance

Regular cleaning of the oil-treated surface is done with good soap shavings with a high fat content. Reprocessing the surface as needed, but not until after min. 2-3 months. The surface is washed in the wood cleaner and possibly sanded with grain 320-400 before applying 1 very thin layer of neutral (unpigmented) floor oil.

Covers

Approx. 15 m2 / liter depending on the absorbency of the wood.

Drying time

ca. 24 hours. Curing approx. 2-3 weeks. Avoid heavy loading of the surface for the first 48 hours.

Tool cleaning

Liquid brown soap and water.

Durability

Floor oil has a long shelf life in packaging. The pigmented floor oils can precipitate heavily and after prolonged standing must be stirred thoroughly before use.

MAL code

00-1.

Safety

Cloths used during work can be self-igniting !!! They must therefore either be packed airtight, spread out so that the heat can escape during drying or be destroyed. Linseed oil dries by oxygen uptake. In that process, heat is developed. If the heat cannot escape, such as from a crumpled cloth, it can ignite spontaneously.
